About me

About me

I am an English-speaking, certified* cognitive-behavioral therapist based in Krakow, Poland. As a former ex-pat, I work with expatriates seeking good quality psychological therapy, ex-pat coaching, and counseling in English in Krakow and anywhere else (online).

I work with adults – individuals and couples.

Mental health problems I typically help with:

  • anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia, other phobias, and health anxiety),
  • obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD, body dysmorphic disorder),
  • post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the effects of complex trauma (my doctoral thesis focused on the results of trauma),
  • chronic pain,
  • personality disorders (borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, avoidant personality disorder, histrionic personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, mixed personality disorders),
  • affective disorders (depression, bipolar disorder),
  • couple/marital conflict.

Methods I use in my work:

  • classic cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) – this is the basis of my approach,
  • elements of schema therapy,
  • dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) techniques (DBT requires attending group therapy and skills training as well if used as the main approach),
  • mindfulness-based therapy techniques,
  • emotional schema therapy (EST) techniques.

I do not work with: eating disorders, schizophrenia, schizoid and schizotypal personality disorders, schizoaffective disorder, and adult ADHD. I do not work with children or adolescents either.

As an undergraduate, I realized that cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a logical, reasonable, and proven psychological treatment method. Therefore, I decided to study it. Over a dozen years ago, I learned it directly from British CBT experts at the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre (OCTC). Since then, I have continued to broaden my knowledge and skills by attending workshops regularly. I also submit my work to supervision.

Since I spent six years living in Rome, I understand how challenging moving to another country may be. Therefore, after returning to Krakow, I joined an international organization, SIETAR, where I became qualified as a diversity trainer. Thanks to those experiences, I can effectively use my coaching and training qualifications to help other ex-pats. I offer ex-pat coaching and psychological therapy in English in Krakow and online.

Privately, I am married and have two kids.

* I am certified by the Polish Society for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, a member of the European Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies.
